We welcome participants from the UW–Madison research community, researchers from other Nathan Shock Centers, and colleagues across the broader aging‑research community.
WiNSC Annual Symposium
Tuesday, May 12, 2026
Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery (WID), UW–Madison
The event will run from 7:30 AM to ~6:00 PM.
About the Symposium
The Wisconsin Nathan Shock Center (WiNSC) will host its inaugural Annual Symposium on May 12, 2026. This full‑day event brings together researchers, trainees, and collaborators to explore current work in the biology of aging.
The theme for 2026, Metabolism of Aging, reflects WiNSC’s focus on understanding how metabolic pathways influence aging across multiple biological systems. Through scientific talks, discussion, and community interaction, the symposium aims to highlight new insights and advance collaboration across the aging‑research community.
Who Should Attend
We welcome participation from:
• Investigators in the biology of aging
• Trainees and early‑career researchers
• UW–Madison collaborators involved in aging or metabolism research
• Researchers from other Nathan Shock Centers and aging‑research networks
• Scientific colleagues whose work aligns with aging, metabolism, or related fields
Participation is intended for those engaged in aging‑research activities within UW–Madison and our collaborating research networks.
What to Expect
Attendees can look forward to:
- Scientific presentations by internal and external speakers
- Opportunities for discussion and collaboration
- Networking time with colleagues across UW–Madison and the broader aging‑research network
- A poster session featuring research from UW investigators, WiNSC award recipients, and trainees
A detailed program will be shared as event planning is finalized.
Poster Session
The symposium will include an afternoon poster session featuring research related to the biology of aging. We welcome posters from members of the UW–Madison research community, researchers from other Nathan Shock Centers, and colleagues across the broader aging‑research community.
Posters may focus on the symposium theme, Metabolism of Aging, or any area of aging biology. Works in progress and posters previously presented at other scientific meetings are welcome.
If you indicate interest in presenting a poster when you register, we will follow up with additional information and instructions.
